PCE Scholarship 2019

 

PCE’s wil be having its first ever scholarship!

Qualifications to Apply

  • Must be a paid member of the Pilipino Cultural Exchange at the time of application

  • Must be a student at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

Scholarship Application

Please provide a 500-800 word essay, answering any one of the two topics:

  • What aspect of culture have you discovered and found growth in through your membership in PCE?

  • How have you reached out to communities different from your own and how did it affect you?

And a 500-700 word essay, answering:

  • Why is receiving this scholarship important to you?

The Decision Process

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of alumni and the club advisor. When reviewed, scholarship applications will be anonymous to prevent the possibility of personal preference interfering in the selection process. The essays will be ranked on a 40 point scale (0-40). The points from both essays will be totaled, and then averaged with the scores from all alumni on the panel.

Scholarship awardees will be contacted by Exec through email by  June 1st, 2019. Cal Poly ASI, Inc. and the Cal Poly Financial Aid Office will require selected students to submit their EMPL ID to receive the award. If selected awardees have any outstanding balance due to Cal Poly, the award will be applied and any difference will be awarded as check to the student.
