What is Outreach?
Outreach Coordinators have the ultimate goal of connecting our club members and then connecting them to the greater community. We connect the members through our annual general member retreat and by acting as a human resource ready to provide support and resources as needed.
Outreach serves as a confidential, non-biased space for members to express how they are feeling and get the help that they need. The connection to the community is made through various community service events and fundraisers.
Outreach also raises awareness for important topics such as mental health and cancer. Overall, the Outreach coordinators foster wellness for the club members and strive to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Some of our events!
Clearance for Cancer
What is Clearance for Cancer, you may ask? It's PCE's annual auction! You can auction off honestly anything and all of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This event is a great way to contribute to an organization that funds cancer research and creates support groups for patients and survivors.
Ito Ako
“Ito ako” in Tagalog means “this is me.” Last year, the open gallery was a space for us to express who we are through all sorts of art! This year’s theme is tbd, but keep your eyes out for the Ito Ako workshop happening prior with WMM, where we provide a space for you to get started on those gallery submissions! (:
Ito Ako is part gallery, part open-mic! Gallery submissions and open mic pieces are highly encouraged! Show us who you are.
Mx. PCE
Mx. PCE is a pageant style family competition! The event starts off with a question and answer portion, is followed by a talent show! This is done to raise awareness for people affected by cancer. The questions relate topics like cancer, mental health, and community service. One or two people represent each PCE family and we award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!
Relay for Life
Relay for Life is a 12-hour team walk-a-thon event running from 10am-10pm in support of the American Cancer Society which raises money to fund research grants and provide support through patient care programs. The event requires that one member be walking on the track at all times to signify how cancer never sleeps. Join us for any part of the day to raise money and awareness for a great cause!
Cultureach Retreat
Join Culture and Outreach for our annual Cultureach Retreat! This is an opportunity to bond with other general members of PCE with no outside distractions. It’s camping trip and we will be sleeping in tents and being in the great outdoors!
